David is the owner of Spectrum Horse Service. He began his horse career when he married Donna. The ultimate animal lover, it was not long before he was training and showing halter horses, had attended farrier school and was quite a busy and successful farrier. David continues to handle horses, assists in semen collections and helps with all aspects of breeding and foaling.
Donna is a lifetime horsewoman. Raised by horse owners/breeders, she has been riding, showing and active in breeding most of her life. Her interest in breeding really took off in the early 1990's when assisting training clients with their breeding needs. After working in several internships with Reproduction Veterinarians she went to school and received certification for Equine Reproduction. She continues to this day to attend schools to keep up on any new techniques that may be of considerable value to her devoted clientelle. Donna specializes in difficult shipping stallions and problem mares. Working closely with 3 local Veterinarians she has been able to improve the shipping successes in many stallions and has returned many mares with serious reproduction issues to successful broodmares.
Chad has been an active part of the breeding at SHS most of his life. As a youth he showed several of the family's Arabian horses in halter and western pleasure. He has been assisting David and Donna with foaling since he was 12 years old. Today Chad is an accomplished stallion handler for semen collection. He also helps in all aspects of the daily functions at the farm from feeding, cleaning, repairs and helping the performance trainer.
